You Say Tomato, I Say Wah?

All that is to say that I very much disapprove of any class of people being called, however indirectly, stupid! I think to say, however indirectly, that autistic people are cognitively impaired – well unless they are Aspies of course – is discrimination of the worst sort.

I don’t even know how to define intelligence. I tend to have the sort of intelligence well measured by testing. Nonetheless, I have not been a great student. I gained no degree. My intellect certainly has not done much good at work. I have no careerer, just a lot of bad jobs.

And, I am not parochial about intelligence. I see intelligence in Musicians, and artists, and athletes and many other people who are not usually thought of as intelligent. And I am in no position to ascertain what may be going on within the skill of one who may not be able to communicate well. There could be great wonders in there. Until there is a clear and unambiguous way to gauge intelligence, all sorts of intelligence, and irrespective of a person s ability to communicate; I will stay away from judgments.

Further. I do not think that intellectual capability is the major measure of a person’s worth! Therefore, I find this one stated Asperger’s – autism difference to be disgusting. So what might I accept as a difference between these two conditions? Stay tuned!

Nope, not done yet!
